MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION OF “MELJOL”

Name: The name of the society shall be “MelJol”

Office: The registered office of he society shall be situated, for the time being, at Soona mahal, 2nd floor, Churchagate,
Mumbai 400 020.

Aims and objects: The aims and objects of the society are as follows:

(i) to encourage, promote and support “education” of children in the widest sense of the term throughout the republic of India;

(ii) to encourage, promote and support necessary and lawful change in society, particularly with regards to promoting and safeguarding the rights of children in India;

(iii) to take up various causes and issues with various forums, particularly with regards to education and right of children;

(iv) to encourage, promote and support initiate or set up various institutions, centers, programmes, projects, voluntary groups, professional groups etc, for the purpose of promoting education of children, both formal and informal, as also to encourage and support research, training and enhancement of teaching and communication skills;

(v) to edit, print, publish or cause to edit, print, publish books, magazines, newspaper, newsletters, journals, periodicals, as also audio visual material for advertisement and dissemination of useful and informative material, in relation to the aims and objects herein;

(vi) to serve as a think-tank, to discuss and deliberate, various issues at various for a, create awareness and help in the planning process for a better educational system in the country and to create a healthy and safe environment for the development and welfare of children.

(vii) to work in harmony, either formally or informally, with other national and international institutions working for a better educational system and/or the right of children;

(viii) to conduct and organize seminars, conference , meetings , training programmes, both nationally and internationally;

(ix) to generally support or assist or fund any individual or institution working in the field of education and issue concerning children;

(x) to generally assist or support developmental work in either urban or rural areas;

(xi) to hold and manage all funds and properties raise for the purpose of the objects of the society;

(xii) to raise fund promoting the objects of the society in any and every lawful manner including the undertaking of the income-generating activity which may be incidental or ancillary to the attainment of the society.


Application of property and income

All income earnings and movable and immovable properties of the society shall be solely utilized and applied towards the promotion of its aims and objects only as set forth in the Memorandum of Association and no portion thereof shall be paid or transfer directly or indirectly by way of dividends, bonus, profits or in any manner whatsoever to the present or more of the present or the past members. No member of the society shall have any personal claim on any movable or immovable properties of the society or make any profits, whatsoever by virtue of his/her membership.
